Partnership spotlight: an enduring legacy of service and shared commitment

The partnership between the National CASA/GAL Association for Children and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation began in 1989 and has flourished for more than three decades. For Theta, National CASA/GAL and our nationwide network represents a meaningful opportunity to live out its goal of exercising the widest influence for good—through service, support, and financial contributions that make a lasting difference in the lives of children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.

The visionary leaders who first saw the potential for this collaboration, Janet Paine Peters and Marjorie Crane Schnacke, understood the profound impact Theta could have at both the national, state, and local levels of the CASA/GAL network. Their foresight laid the foundation for a partnership that continues to inspire action and compassion today.

From the very beginning, Theta members have been deeply woven into our mission—volunteering, advocating, and raising awareness across the national network of more than 939 programs nationwide. Beyond their annual Theta Day of Service, members have shown up as dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and passionate ambassadors for children who need a consistent, caring adult by their side.

The partnership has also been mutually enriching. Theta collegians and alumnae have gained invaluable personal and professional growth through their engagement with local and state CASA/GAL programs—developing leadership skills, empathy, and a lifelong commitment to service.

Partnerships like the one with Kappa Alpha Theta are essential to advancing our mission: ensuring that every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

“Partnerships like ours with Kappa Alpha Theta are powerful reminders that lasting impact happens when values align. Together, we are changing outcomes for children—and we could not do it without the generosity, dedication, and heart of our partners. We invite others to join us in this vital work and be part of something truly transformative.” —Tara Perry, CEO, National CASA/GAL Association
